Religion and Environment - Empirical Studies
REES (Religion and Environment - Empirical Studies) is a mailing list that promotes the exchange and collaboration between researchers conducting empirical studies on religious actors, communities and the environment. This network is steered by answering the question: While religious environmental protection exists in theory, what does research tell us from practice? This question will be dealt with on the basis of at least three topics. These include
1. exploring the tensions within religious or spiritual communities or with non-religious actors
2. study of field-internal interpretations of religious environmental management and its concepts and symbols
3. carrying out "reality checks" of the supposed hopes for sustainability & peace that would arise in religious environmental protection (through great leadership efforts, inter-religious projects & initiatives, local sustainability projects, etc.).
